Basia Kinglake

I was introduced to yoga in the mid 80’s on a summer trip to Vermont. We stopped at a spa in the mountains and took a class with a local yoga teacher. It was a transformative experience. There was no turning back! I knew that I would continue as I had never felt so much more at ease and so alive after any other type of exercise class I had taken. I continued to practice, and then in 2000 completed a 200 hour yoga teacher certification program in Westchester. Since then, I have studied extensively with many internationally renown yoga teachers ,including Colleen Saidman Yee, Rodney Yee, Angela Farmer and Victor Von Kooten, and completed additional trainings – 500 hour Yoga teacher and Urban Zen certifications at Yoga Shanti in Sag Harbor, Trauma Sensitive Yoga at the Trauma Center at the Justice Resource Institute and, most recently, I completed a certification in the Inelda End of Life Doula training. My master’s in social work had also deepened my yoga practice.
I seek to maintain a perpetual beginner’s mind in my yoga and hope you will join me in class to continue to explore finding peace of mind, more balance in life, ways to unwind, to explore yoga from the inside out and to breath.
